Christmas is Coming

Christmas is coming, and I am getting so big. Mommy says I'm going to have a great time this Christmas. I still love to pull the bulbs off the tree, so Mommy moved them all so I can't reach them. I discovered candy canes yesterday. I tried to pull one off the tree, but it wouldn't come down! I saw Mommy sucking on one that a friend gave her and she looked really happy so they must be good, but I won't get to have one unless Mommy gives me one because try as I might I just can't get that candy cane to come off the Christmas tree. Mommy's having a hard time keeping me out of the presents too. I like the pretty paper. It makes a crinkly sound, and I know there's something underneath it, but Mommy won't let me play with them. She says I have to wait a couple more days. Bummer! I don't understand why I can't have them now. I guess that's all for tonight. I'll be sure to check in after Christmas and tell you what I got.

Tubbies

I have discovered how much fun the bathtub is. I go running to it when I hear the water running because I know that I'll be getting a bath, and I LOVE baths! I like to splash the water and play with my tubbie toys while mommy washes my hair and my body. I always smell really good when I'm done. Today I discovered how much fun it is to stand up in the tub and let myself fall back down on my bum. It splashes water everywhere! I got mommy soaked doing it. She kept telling me to stop, but it was just too much fun. Then she ruined it by letting the water drain out of the tub. I guess she didn't want me to wash her bathroom floor for her by getting it all wet. The tub's a lot of fun when it's not bathtime too. I like to stand beside it and throw thing into it. Mommy doesn't mind when I throw my toys and board books in it, but she wasn't too happy when I threw my dress shoe in the tub when it was still wet from my bath. She caught me trying to throw Daddy's pajama pants in the tub and took them away from me. She says tubs are for bathies, not for storage. I'll have to show her! :) Banging on the edge of the tub is fun too, and I'm just big enough that I can get one foot up on the edge of the tub. Mommy says it won't be long before I'll be able to climb into the tub all by myself. I can't wait!

Daddy

I love my Daddy! He works really hard to support me and my mommy. I've noticed that lately he's been around a lot more. He spends more time with me and mommy, and he plays with me now! I wanted Daddy to read to me, so I brought him a book. He read me the whole thing, even though he says he can't read very well. It made me really happy. Tuesday night and this morning he spent time with just me while mommy went to a writing class and helped my Meme with her office work. I missed my mommy, but Daddy and I had a lot of fun together. Tuesday night we made cookies with snowmen on them. They were really yummy. Today we cleaned the house together while Mommy was gone. I helped by moving the dirt pile all over the house. I really like it when Daddy spends time with me. I love you Daddy!

Busy Days

I've been keeping my mommy really busy the past couple days. We went to Rochester to go shopping at the Lilac Mall, but we didn't get far. We had to park at Walgreen's and watch the parade because all the roads were closed. It was my first parade this year. I saw Tigger and Eeyore, and Spongebob; but I didn't really care. I kept trying to get down and run into the road and join the parade. I really liked all the marching bands. They played pretty music and waved flags around. I had a lot of fun. We finally got to the Lilac Mall and Santa was there! I stood in front of him, just looking at him for about 5 minutes; but I cried the instant Mommy put me on his lap. Santa laughed. Mommy told me it was okay and that I could try again next year. Today I helped Mommy add candy canes to our Christmas tree. It was fun, but I wanted to eat them. Mommy says I have to wait until it is closer to Christmas. I have also discovered how to take my pants off. I love to do it, but Mommy says I have to stop because it is too cold to be running around without pants. We'll see about that.

Christmas Tree

Daddy put up the Christmas tree last week. I like it a lot. It is my Grammy's fake tree, but we are borrowing it this year. Mommy says we will get our own tree next year. It has lots of pretty decorations on it; like colorful lights that sometimes blink, silver garland, and shiny balls. Mommy and Daddy put the shatterproof balls at the bottom of the tree so I can't break any of them. I like to pull them off and hide them around the house. Mommy keeps trying to tell me that it's not a nice or fun idea, but I don't believe her. Soon there will be presents under the tree, and Mommy will have a hard time keeping me away from them.
