The Moose in the Sky
I brought Jazmine with me to check the mail this evening, and we were pointing out the things we saw. She liked the trees and the sky and the cars, but when I showed her the moon she called it a moose. Oh well, she can't get everything right all in one day, and it was close enough.

I Smell Pretty
Last night Mommy went downstairs to get a drink, leaving me in bed upstairs, and perhaps a little too alone. By the time she came back up I had gone into her bedroom and the bathroom, taking her box of jelly beans (newly opened) and a bottle of Japanese Cherry Blossom body wash. I had dumped the jelly beans on my bed and started eating them, and I opened the body wash and poured it on my head and my bed. Mommy's whole box of jelly beans had to be thrown away, and she had to change my sheets and pajamas. I smelled very pretty.

Potatoes
Yesterday we were out shopping, and on the car ride home we asked Jazmine what she wanted to eat for lunch. Guess what she said. "Potatoes!" I laughed and said, "Jazmine, what would you like to eat with your potatoes?" No joke, she replied "A burger, fries, and drink please."The only child I've ever met that wanted potatoes and fries in one meal. Needless to say I did not give her both, but her response was so funny to me.

Health Update
OK, so we went for the chest x-ray, which showed that Jazmine has bronchiolitis, or in layman's terms: inflammation of the bronchiole tubes. Her doctor said it's kind of like a childhood form of bronchitis. So she has her very own nebulizer here at home, and he's ordered for her to get lots of rest, drink a lot of juice, and eat soft things that will be easy to swallow (like soup). Jazmine's nebulizer mask looks like a fish, so she doesn't fight me too much on that. But as all you mothers know, getting a rambunctious 2 year-old to get a lot of rest or eat a lot of soup is no small task (especially the rest). For those of you with children who've been around her recently, do not worry. It is NOT contagious or communicable.

Oh My
I just got back from the doctor's office. He is having a nebulizer delivered to us for Jazmine. He is also sending us to the hospital to get a chest x-ray to confirm his diagnosis. So when Chuck gets home from work we'll be off to the hospital. Yippee! I'll keep you updated.
Unique
It's official...Jazmine is unique. As you may know, Jazmine had her testing today. They tested her in all areas, not just speech/language. She came out fine in all areas except speech/language. In this area she stumped them. They said they could tell she has trouble being understood, but at the same time she seems to speak very cleary because what can be understood is very clear. According to the testers, they've never encountered this problem before, so they are going to check with their supervisor about what to do and revisit us in 6-8 weeks to check on her speech/language skills. And we'll go from there. For now though she tested above the aidable range. Which is very good news. I'm very happy.

Uh Oh
When we took my brother to the doctor today he said I sounded wheezy and decided to take a listen. Then he told Mommy that he thinks I might have allergies and asthma (which could be feeding off each other) like Auntie Karen. He gave me a nebulizer treatment in another room while he did my brother's checkup, and I have to go see him again tomorrow afternoon. He said that if he's still concerned tomorrow he's probably going to set me up with an at-home nebulizer. My little nebulizer mask looks like a fish, so it's not so bad, but Mommy isn't all that happy about it.

Obsessions
My hair is starting to grow back in, and it's coming in fuller and a touch redder. I also have a new obsession. Well, two actually. First, Mommy's trying to lose some weight and she stands on the scale at least once a day. I've decided that this is fun, and now I love to stand on the scale and clap when the number blinks. My second obsession is a nighttime obsession. I've recently discovered the moon and stars, and I LOVE to go outside at night and just look at the stars and moon. And when it's time to go inside and go to bed I say goodnight to the stars and moon. Also, it's been really nice outside lately, and I love to play outside. Mommy takes me outside every day. Sometimes we play in the backyard, and sometimes we go for a walk. It's really fun.

Fun at Gammy's

My brother and I at my Gammy's. 4/5/08

Aren't I pretty?

We love our Daddy!

We love our Mommy too!

Don't ask what I was doing. Mommy has no clue.

The whole family
As you can see from the photos above, my brother and I went to our Gammy's house while Mommy and Daddy went grocery shopping. When they came back Gammy took some family photos. Most of them came out pretty good, and as you can see I did not cooperate for others. We had a great time. Thank you Gammy!

My Cousin Erin
Today my Meme brought my cousin Erin over to play with me. We had so much fun. We played with my kitchen set upstairs. Erin didn't want to leave. She gave me the panties that Auntie Becky bought me. They are princess panties and I love them! After a while Meme and Erin had to leave because Meme had parked in a handicap spot and didn't want a ticket. My silly cousin asked, "A ticket to where?" It was really funny. I had a lot of fun with my cousin today, and I'm glad that she didn't mind that I kept calling her "Connor."

Starting to Get it
As you know, I've been potty training for 5 days now. I wear pull-ups at night so I won't wet my bed because I don't wake up to go yet. I'm doing pretty good though. Every morning when I get up I run downstairs and go pee on the potty. I have to be told to go most of the time for the rest of the day though, because I don't want to stop playing to go potty. Sometimes I stop and run to the potty saying "go potty now honey" all on my own. Mommy and Daddy are very proud of me and my progress.

Hairless
I've been having a lot of trouble with lice this past year. Since October alone I've had them 3 or 4 times. So today, when Mommy found them again, she'd had enough. She shaved most of the hair off my head. I was really upset when she was doing it, but now I don't seem to mind. Daddy is really mad because he didn't want Mommy to do it. And he's spoiling me rotten. Mommy says she wants to say "bye bye buggies" and that she's only doing what she thinks is best for me.

Not So Potty
OK, so apparently the novelty of the new potty has worn off already. I went pee on the potty first thing this morning, but ever since I've had no interest in my potty at all. I've been fighting Mommy all day about going on the potty. I also have no interest in my big girl panties. I'd rather wear a diaper all day. Mommy's not so happy right now.
Great Morning
This morning when I woke up my first words were "I need to go potty Mommy." She said to go ahead, so I ran down the stairs and took off my pull-up (AKA my nighttime panties) and went pee on the potty! Yeah for me!!!

Potty Progress
Today Mommy and Daddy bought me a little potty for downstairs, because the problem with my toilet training was that I wanted to hop on and off the potty all day and Mommy couldn't leave Kenny by himself all the time. Plus, it was too far from upstairs to downstairs so I was missing a lot. So they bought me a new potty. Almost as soon as they put it together I sat on it and poo-pood. Then later on, like fifteen minutes ago, I peed AND pooped on the potty while Mommy made supper. She is so proud of me! Daddy will be too when he gets home from work.

Doctor's Appointment
I had a doctor's appointment today. He says that I'm doing well. I am 35" long. The nurse said that I'm 24 pounds, but when we talked to my doctor he said there's no way he believes that I lost 3 pounds in six months. So he is going to have me come back in 3 months and get weighed again. Then I had to have 4 shots! The good news is, I'm all caught up on my shots now. That makes Mommy really happy. Because I was so good, I am now eating a girl scout cookie. It's yummy!

Potty Training
I started actively potty training yesterday. I went all day in big girl panties and I didn't get them wet even once! AND I went pee in the potty once too! (I went in my diaper at naptime and bedtime). Mommy was so proud of me! I'm wearing big girl panties today too. Mommy's hoping that this will be a regular thing for me. I love my panties so much that I threw a fit when Mommy put me in a diaper at naptime and bedtime because I wanted to keep my panties on.

Cupcake Queen
A few minutes ago, while Mommy was in the bathroom, I snuck over to her computer desk and stole her mini-cupcakes that Daddy had given her for Valentine's Day. I took every single one out of its wrapper, and took a bite of each. When Mommy came back down, she found me eating all of her cupcakes. She was very sad and a little upset. She says I get no more snacks for the night. Bummer!

Mix-Up
I seem to be a little confused. For some reason known only to me, I have been calling Mommy "Daddy" and Daddy "Mommy." They try to correct me, and I'll call them by the correct name for a few minutes, but then I go right back to calling them the wrong one. Mommy is hoping it's just a phase and that I'll grow out of it soon.

New Friends
I forgot to mention that I have some new friends. They are all in one family and their names are Angel, Quest, Phoenix, and Temperance. Angel and Quest are twins, and they're 4. I like to play with them, but sometimes they play too rough and it makes me cry. I really like Phoenix. She is 2 like me. She doesn't talk much, but her Mommy says it's just because she doesn't know me very well yet and that she'll talk more as we get to know each other better. Temperance is just a baby. She's going to be 1 soon, so she mostly plays with Kendrick. I have lots of fun playing at their house with them, and Mommy's glad that I have kids to play with.
Honey
One of my new favorite words is "honey." I'll walk around saying "go potty honey" or "it's ok honey" and stuff like that. Mama says I'm so cute! The other day my daddy was sick. I came out of my room, went into the bathroom, and rubbed his back and said, "it's ok daddy, it's ok." It was so sweet.
I still like to push my brother down and he still gets mad when I do it. He's finally starting to learn to hit back though, so I guess I have to watch out!
Mama's not too happy with me right now. Lately I've been sticking my fingers (hand) in my mouth and making myself gag, which causes me to throw up. I did it 3 or 4 times before she finally caught on, and she's been keeping a close eye on me ever since. Since she made me stop doing it I have stopped throwing up, but she's going to talk to my doctor about it because it worries her.

Growing Up
I am growing up so fast. I'm 2 years old and into everything. I love my little brother, but lately I've decided that he is my personal kickboxing bag. I kick him, hit him, and push him over so his head hits the floor. Mommy doesn't like it and puts me on my naughty steps that Auntie Jenny made for me for Christmas. I do not like those naughty steps! I like to help Mommy clean. I can put my toys in my toybox and my books on my bookshelf. I can clean out the lint trap in the dryer and throw away trash. I also put my dirty laundry in the washer all by myself! I like to try to help Mommy sweep, but she says I get in her way and makes me sit down until she's done. Then she gives me the broom and lets me try, and I enjoy it even though there's no dirt left to sweep up. I started potty training today, but I have yet to go in the potty.I l've only wet myself once though, so Mommy says I'm doing good. |
